Yesterday I headed east, to Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz. Those areas are dear to me. For the restaurants, the foot traffic, the independent shops, for Skylight Books.
'Pathways' outside Mohawk Bend.
Friends from far away have written saying they wish they were closer to see the cards in person. And an idea sparked. If you can't come to the cards, the cards can come to you. I would love to mail you a card to post in your community. My only request: please take a photo of it in its shared location along with a description of its out-in-the-world home. Who's in?
'Openings' in Silver Lake.
The URL of this site is on the back of the cards. I'm wondering who has discovered that. I'm wondering who can recognize the location of this posting. Put on your detective hats. I know it's in you.

One of the unanticipated delights of this project are the conversations prompted by my act of posting. Yesterday, after tacking 'Detours' on a tree outside Skylight Books, a man talking on his cellphone stood and walked over to take a look and give a read. Then he nodded my way. A nonverbal conversation.

And I've met three new people in my neighborhood as a result of the posts. One guy saw me and said, "You're the heart girl," referring to 'Love Me' posted in Venice. I smiled. Nodded. And introduced myself. This project is expansive on many fronts.
